Job Duties:
We are seeking a ServiceNow Technical Lead who can provide architectural leadership and drive platform modernization in support of high‑visibility federal missions. This role requires a seasoned technical strategist who can guide a multi‑disciplinary team, enforce platform governance, and translate mission requirements into scalable, compliant, and secure ServiceNow solutions. The selected leader will serve as the principal technical authority for the ServiceNow ecosystem, shaping platform direction and advising senior government and corporate stakeholders on capability expansion, modernization pathways, and enterprise integration strategies. This includes developing and presenting executive‑level briefings, roadmaps, and technical recommendations that directly influence program priorities and investment decisions. Key responsibilities include architecting and delivering complex workflows, cross‑domain integrations, and enterprise automations that strengthen mission execution and operational resilience. The role leads requirements definition, solution design, code and configuration reviews, and full‑lifecycle deployment activities, including coordination with Change Control Boards and compliance stakeholders. Every solution must align with federal security standards, performance expectations, and long‑term sustainment needs.
This position requires deep expertise in ServiceNow architecture, integration frameworks, and SDLC execution within regulated or mission‑critical environments. The ideal candidate brings a TS/SCI proven record of elevating platform performance at scale, mentoring development teams, and ensuring delivery that is both technically sound and audit‑ready. Success in this role is measured by the ability to enhance mission outcomes, reduce operational friction, and deliver a stable, extensible platform that federal customers can rely on.
In this job, you will be responsible for:
- Architecting, designing, and implementing scalable ServiceNow solutions aligned with the customer’s business requirements and platform best practices.
- Leading development lifecycle end-to-end activities, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, customization, and deployment.
- Developing and optimizing workflows, service requests, business rules, UI policies, automations, and integrations using Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and scripting.
- Integrating ServiceNow with various enterprise systems (e.g., Oracle ERP, HRIS, project tools) using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, JDBC, and other technologies.
- Ensuring platform performance, security, compliance, and governance, including monitoring health and usage.
- Leading platform upgrades, patches, module rollouts, and custom application development across ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, EAM, WSD, IRM, HRSD, and other ServiceNow modules.
- Providing technical leadership and mentorship to developers, conducting code reviews, and enforcing coding standards and architectural guidelines.
- Troubleshooting and resolving platform issues, conducting performance tuning, and supporting capacity planning.
- Maintaining data quality and integration, including data loads, transformations, and maintenance across connected systems.
- Participating in Agile development, analyzing requirements and user stories to deliver high-quality, iterative enhancements.
- Creating technical documentation, requirements definitions, specifications, and providing stakeholder training as needed.
- Supporting governance and change processes, including demos, CCB presentations, and release planning.
- Staying current with ServiceNow releases and recommending enhancements to maximize platform capability.
- Providing guidance and expertise for related ServiceNow projects and clients.
Minimum Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- 8+ years of ServiceNow development and architecture experience, including leading end-to-end solution design and mentoring developers.
- Deep expertise across major ServiceNow suites (ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CMDB, SPM) and building scoped/custom applications.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Script Includes, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, Service Portal, and platform scripting.
- Expert experience integrating ServiceNow with enterprise systems using REST/SOAP, MID Server, JDBC, and modern API frameworks.
- Proven track record in platform performance tuning, CMDB/data modeling, Discovery/Service Mapping, and maintaining instance governance.
- Experience with Service Portal development using AngularJS, HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap is a plus.
- Knowledge of MID Server, LDAP, SSO, OAuth, and Web Services integration.
- Experience in ServiceNow Scoped Applications and Custom App Development.
- Strong understanding of upgrade strategies, security models, access controls, and compliance requirements.
- Experience applying AI or automation to workflows, insights, or decision-making, with ability to evaluate emerging platform capabilities.
- Skilled in Agile/Scrum and Dev Sec Ops practices with excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management.
- Experience working in classified IC or DoD program environments.

Desired Certifications
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in one or more modules (ITSM, HRSD, ITAM, or SecOps)
- SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), SAFe Agilist (SA), or Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
Salary Range: $190k+. The final offered salary will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top end of the range would not be typical, to allow for future meaningful salary growth in this position
